Saas-Bahu Clash! Who Will Inherit the ₹30,000 Crore Empire? Questions Arise Over Sanjay Kapoor's 'Mysterious Death' (Image Source: Social Media )

Karishma Kapoor’s ex-husband and businessman Sanjay Kapoor recently passed away in London. Following his death, a major family dispute has erupted over the ownership of the Sona Group.

The battle between mother-in-law Rani Kapoor and daughter-in-law Priya Sachdev Kapoor has now reached the United Kingdom. Rani Kapoor has alleged that the death of her son and former chairman of the group, Sanjay Kapoor, was not 'natural' but rather a case of 'conspiracy and murder'.

Allegations of an International Conspiracy

She has written a letter to the British police in which she has levelled serious accusations of international conspiracy, forged documents, and fraud. In her letter, Rani Kapoor claimed she has solid information and evidence indicating that Sanjay Kapoor’s death was neither sudden nor natural but may have involved foul play — including murder, conspiracy, and forgery.

She also mentioned possessing certain documents that record forced property transfers related to the company, forged signatures, and legal irregularities. Rani Kapoor claims that individuals connected to India, the UK, and the US may have played a role in the entire episode.

Serious Allegations by Rani Kapoor

Rani Kapoor further stated that after Sanjay Kapoor’s death, she was forced to sign some documents, and these very documents are now being used to declare Priya Sachdev Kapoor as the representative of the company.

She also alleged that there have been legal and financial irregularities in many company matters, and those involved in this scheme have benefited from Sanjay’s death. Rani Kapoor has appealed to the British police to launch an official investigation and register a case.

Company Issues a Clarification

Just hours after Rani Kapoor made her allegations, the Sona Group released an official statement in the stock market. The statement clearly mentioned that Rani Kapoor is no longer a shareholder in the company and has held no stake since 2019.

According to the company, in May 2019, the declaration of Significant Beneficial Ownership listed Sanjay Kapoor as the sole owner. The company also said that no documents have been signed by Rani Kapoor following Sanjay Kapoor’s death.

How Did Sanjay Kapoor Die?

The actor died on June 12 while playing a polo game in London. The medical report cited cardiac arrest as the cause of death. However, some media reports have claimed he died due to shock after being stung by a bee.
